I wanted to make something simple and sweet today and settled for some Nutella mousse. 3 ingredients – how much simpler can a recipe get?
Recipe below:
40g nutella
40g cream
Finishing salt, for garnishing
- Whip cream into soft peaks.
- Add nutella to the mix and continue whipping until firm peaks are achieved.
- Scoop or pipe into glasses.
- Sprinkle some salt of choice on top.
I decorated mine with a hazelnut and some black lava salt (the latest addition to my salt collection). The flakes were nice and big and I think the contrast is lovely. I love adding salt to my desserts these days – I feel it brings out the subtle flavours and cuts through the excessive sweetness.
YUM!!!!!
You had me at Nutella….well and then salt.
Lol the salt really does add another dimension to an already amazing combination. 🙂
I know it! Salted caramel is my new favorite thing. Just made some last night to use on another dessert but kept sneaking spoonfuls of it.
Nooooooo…
I knew resisting Nutella is a losing battle. Stopped myself from buying that massive bottle of Nutella for http://www.rumkihn.com/2011/11/nutella-ice-cream.html but you have just re-awakened that “Just get it… the bottle of Nutella won’t go to waste” devil in me. Looks amazing.
Thank you 🙂 I really enjoyed the process of making it.
